Hervey Bay to Tannum Sands
While at Tannum Sands Hannah had great fun in writing notes in the sky using only the Moon :) my attempts were rubbish!
Our camp fire outside Whitsun - kept the flies away for a little while.
Finally got a chance to photograph a Kookaburra. They are one loud bird when they want to be!!
Camp at Tannum Sands - a lot of flies (especially sand flies which you never see but they bite you all the same, just ask Hannah)
Passed through Miriam Vale on our way back from Agnes Water/1770. Please ignore the pizza and pie reference, we in no way meant anything by it....Dan and Nat!?
Mangrove in the town of 1770. Captain Cook (who wasn't a captain) ate the oysters and other shellfish around the base of the mangrove forests in Bustard Bay - when he landed here in 1770.
Bustard Bay - named by Cook, as the first good meal they had once ashore since England was a Bustard (big turkey like bird)
Hannah walking towards a boat.
Buatard Bay/1770 - above and below.
Workmans Beach - Agnes Water. The sea was lovely and warm once you had warmed to it. The reading was good as well.
Workmans beach looking north to Agnes Water.
Our camp at Workmans beach - $5.50 a night with cold showers and composting toilets.
Some gulls at Bargara - the retirement capital of the Bundaberg region. Met a really nice bloke in the book shop who was originally from the Isle of Man. I think he kept us talking for about an hour.... i was desperate for an ice cream by then.
Bagara Beach
From Hervey Bay we headed north with our destination being Agnes Water/town of 1770. We stopped off at Bargara to give the van a rest. From Bargara to Agnes Water the radiator decided to spill fluid over the engine so I had to stop, refill and tighten the caps.
